In the spring of 2020 Megan’s journey back to MDRS began. A fellow Possum, Alex McHale, putting together a crew to go to MDRS. She applied and the team was accepted. With the pandemic everything was a bit topsy turvy, but this May nearly 3 years after we started this adventure the mission is happening. Sadly Alex who was going to be the commander had to step down just before the mission which made me commander as I had been the XO. Ritu stepped forward to take the XO responsibilities. Team Pegasus goes on. Let’s introduce the team:
Megan Kane: Commander and Greenhab Officer
Ritu Patil: Executive Officer and Crew Scientist
Rachel Jones: Health Safety Officer and Crew Astronomer
Ana Pires: Crew Scientist
KC Shasteen: Crew Engineer
Arriving in Grand Junction, CO by May 13, Team Pegasus will enter the Mars Desert Research Station on May 14.
